Open for business as normal

Liberton High School will be open as normal on Wednesday 6 January. Parents are advised that they should not take their vehicles onto the school drive as the useable roads are narrower than normal and very slippery. Vehicular access will be for staff, emergency personnel and disabled children only.

Dress code for pupils will be as normal, other than for footwear. All pupils are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear whilst the current extreme weather conditions prevail. Pedestrians should keep to designated paths and avoid walking on roads.

Happy new year to all!

yes that is a good point just let them stay off scholl until mouday it its very hard to get to the school and someof the children get wet or hit with snow balls so i would think it would make more sence to close the school until the weather is sotable

Today my son was at school he came home and complained about how cold it was. snowballs were thrown and his school uniform is completely soaked. As a parent i think you should just close the school until monday. All parents , teachers and pupils would be happier. If so they would work harder and concentrate more insteaf of being excited about the snow. Getting to school was also a problem and my son was late a teacher then complained about this , it is hard to get transport in this weather.

Apparently there are areas of the playground near the CDT block that the outside steps are extremely danger. My daughter tried and failed to get past these and this resulted in her being late to class. This appears to be an accident waiting to happen, and although I appreciate the difficulties of keeping this area clear, if the school grounds are unsafe I question whether the school should be open.

Just close the school until monday because kids are getting hit with snowballs and because of this tthey are soaking and this will result in a cold or even the flu, just keep them off.

school should be shut until the snow goes away as it is harder to get to school and snowballs are being thrown to everyone and they could damage someone if its ice so it makes more sense to close the school until the weather is suitable but right now, its quite unsafe.

Interesting comments. Maybe from pupils judging by the terrible spelling?
